According to YouVersion, the popular bible app, the most popular bible verse this year in the United States is Romans 12:2. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will” (NIV). What’s interesting about this verse is that the pronoun you is plural, meaning you all. So, when Paul says that we should be transformed by the renewal of our minds in order to discern the will of God, we are to do it as a church. In order to discern God’s will as a community, we must first discern the will of God in our own lives. Let’s make sure that we seek God’s will in all aspects of our lives. I believe that God desires to use The Well Church to not only advance the gospel, but also to defend the cause of the poor and needy. Let us, as Paul commands, pray and seek God’s will for The Well Church. As your pastor, I believe that we will be able to not only discern, but also to do the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
