Perseverance

"Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours." John 15:20

In today's text, Jesus provides insight into the life of those who follow Him—a journey marked by challenges, requiring us to persevere. This verse reminds us that as disciples, we are not exempt from the experiences of our Master.

Jesus states, "A servant is not greater than his master." This principle underlines the reality that, as followers of Christ, He calls us to imitate His life and example. As servants submit to their master's will, we must align our lives with Christ's teachings and mission.

Jesus also warns us that we would also be persecuted since the world persecuted Him. We may encounter resistance and opposition as we seek to live according to His teachings. The values and truths of Christ's kingdom often challenge the status quo, leading to misunderstandings or even hostility.

Dear Church, today's verse calls us to persevere in our faith, especially when we face challenges or rejection. It reminds us that our faith journey is intimately connected to that of our Master. As we persevere in our faith, let's keep our focus on Christ and faithfully proclaim His message, knowing that our efforts are not in vain. Our God is with us!
